Baykan Aksu MSc

Junior Geologist

Baykan is an exploration geologist specialized in mineral and geothermal exploration. His career has been focused mostly on alkalic and calc-alkalic porphyry Cu-Au deposits of British Columbia, orogenic gold deposits in the Northwest Territories, and geothermal exploration based in Western Anatolia.

He has earned two MSc degrees titled 1) Structural Controls on Kızıldere Geothermal field; and 2) Fluid Inclusions as an Exploration Tool in the Yellowknife Gold Belt, Northwest Territories, Canada. He prefers field-based work and has experience with advanced geological software (Leapfrog Geo) in 3-D solid modelling. Prior to joining APEX in 2020, he worked in Turkey for three years in geothermal exploration and currently spends most of his time working in Cu-Au porphyry deposits of southern British Columbia.
