Business Development Lead, Geomorphologist
Lisa has a multifaceted background with over 20 years of combined experience in both the minerals and petroleum services industries. Her experience encompasses business development, sales, upstream marine oil and gas services, and consulting in terrains sciences for mineral exploration and environmental/engineering applications. She has worked internationally with major multinational organizations.
Lisa began her career as a consulting geomorphologist working primarily on diamond exploration projects focused on early-stage exploration. She mapped and interpreted glacial geomorphology and advised on drift prospecting programs, managing her own contribution to numerous projects in locations in arctic Canada (Nunavut, NWT, Quebec) and western Greenland. She obtained her MSc from the University of Alberta, based off campus at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Geological Survey of Canada in Bedford, Nova Scotia. She focused on mapping Quaternary geology on the eastern Scotian Shelf in Atlantic Canada using high resolution seismic. She moved into working for upstream petroleum geo-services companies focused on marine geophysics where she held a vessel-based position of Chief geophysicist managing offshore teams ensuring data quality on single and multi-vessel projects for major oil and gas companies offshore of the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Alaska.
Lisa spent five years in Dubai working in sales and marketing and business development where she was responsible for managing tender proposals and contracts for North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean.
Lisa has brought her extensive experience in the Americas and Caribbean to APEX where she is responsible for business development focused on Latin America. Lisa also contributes to technical report writing and consulting. She splits her time between Canada and Colombia
